Research Focus

Dr. Jeong’s research interests center around reproductive biology, endocrinology, endometrial cancer, and mouse animal model. Normal endometrial function requires a balance of progesterone and estrogen effects. An imbalance caused by increased estrogen action and/or decreased progesterone action can result in abnormal endometrial proliferation and, ultimately, uterine diseases including infertility, endometriosis and endometrial cancer. Jeong’s laboratory focuses on studying in both the mouse and human uterus. Elucidating the molecular mechanism to regulate steroid hormone signaling will be critical for the development of diagnostics and therapeutics for disease in women.
